ETIM International and ETIM UK have reached an agreement that ETIM UK will expand their membership and services into Ireland.
During the General Assembly meeting of October 22nd in Rome, it was agreed that from 1 January 2025, ETIM UK will take on duties as a multi-country member and expand its responsibilities and services to include the Republic of Ireland.
ETIM UK will change its name to ETIM UK and Ireland Ltd, and will be the main contact for ETIM related topics and support in Ireland, while further inclusion of Irish trading associations into local ETIM activities remains an option for the future.
Nico van der Merwe, chairof the board of ETIM UK and Ireland:
“This is a logical step to formalise what is already happening in practice in the market. Many companies involved in the construction, electrotechnical, plumbing and HVAC supply chain have presence in both countries, while on the operational side, product data is maintained centrally. Therefore combining the representation of both countries into one association makes a lot of sense.”
Jeroen van der Holst, community director of ETIM International:
“While the ETIM model is used globally in more than 150 countries, we don’t have a local representation everywhere. We are very pleased to be expanding our local presence into Ireland where users are able to participate in the maintenance and improvement of our classification and exchange standards, which from now on will be coordinated through ETIM UK and the Republic of Ireland.”
